The end of a beautiful period

My last post, the last time that I’m going to write for my blog of second of batxillerat.

I can imagine how the time passes and how we grow up so early. If I stop to think and remember on the past it seems like yesterday I have arrived in Spain.

All this years in the high school I meet a lot of people, I learn a lot and I’m going to miss a lot all that.

It’s true that I’m going to start a new period, maybe one of the most important which is going to mark me a lot but I’m a little bit afraid because is a big change, I’m going to live without my parents and I have to front of with all the problems. Live without my parents is not the problem because they go every year a month in Rumania and I stay here alone.

The first days I think they are going to be the worst of my live because I’m going to be in a university with a lot of people, I’m sure that I’m going to go in a wrong class and more things that I’m able to do. Jajaja

I love the idea to go and live with two of my best friends: Meritxell and Anna. Maybe we are going to be calm but I think that we are going to do a lot of things together and is going to be a pleasure period.  

In Nepal, after new earthquake, people seek open spaces to avoid falling debris

Last Tuesday Nepal has suffered another earthquake. People in Lukla rushed to the airport because most of the buildings are perched on hilly ground and because they were in an open space.

The power was 7.3 quakes and was centered near Mount Everest.

The news presents some cases of people who live the earthquake. One was in the car with some friends when saw people running and they have to let the car, another was in a second floor of a building…

Opinion:

In the last years there are plenty of natural’s phenomenon’s which destroy a lot of cities and kill a lot of people. The worst is that we can’t do anything to stop that and we have to accept them. Here, in Spain, we have the luck that everything it seems to be calm but if the global warming progress that specialists says, we are going to go because nothing of that is going to exist.

The worming progress is true that we have the fault because in the last years we contaminate a lot and now we have to live with that.

Mother, son both fighting cancer

In 2012 Colin, 6 years son of Cheryl, was diagnostic with leukemia; the same year her father died from ALS. In 2013 her house flooded and they lost everything. Finally in 2014 she was diagnosticated with breast cancer.

Tim Smith a photojournalist asked if he could document the family’s story. Cheryl thought that the two can’t survive but she hoped that her son can.

Smith was there for the treatments, surgeries and the worst days after the treatments.

Cheryl said that they try to focus on the little moments which make them happy. For encourage herself her looking in the mirror and tearing up. Her son says that she is beautiful.

Cheryl decline when she is alone, at night but she has her friends who help and encourage her a lot.

In 2015 Cheryl has been declared cancer-free and Collin will hopefully be cleared of his leukemic in October. Now they can have a normal live.

Smith keeps closely in touch with Cleryl and her kind and he want to be with Collin in October.

Opinion

I choose this news because you know I live more or less everyday with that and because for me the strength  of this woman is incredible. Is very unfair that some families have to live with that and they have to accept and be prepared for everything because this illness is very sensible.

The worst part I think is see somebody that you love a lot has to suffer like that and you feel very powerless because you cannot do anything. I hope that one day the medicine found a cure.

Death toll in Kabul hotel attack rises to 14; Taliban claim responsibility

Kabul, Afganistan.

A gunfire on a hotel in Kabul finish with the life about 14 persons. They were foreigners from America, Italy, UK… and they went there for a culture event.

In March 2014 was another deadly assault on the luxury Serena Hotel in the same city.

These attacks are atrocities. The siege starts at 8 p.m and was during more than five hours.

More than 50 persons were rescued from the hotel.

The police had killed three armed assailants buy only one body had been found.

Opinion:

Why I choose this news? Nowadays the most of the news are relation with this topic. I hope that one day that is going to stop and we can say “today is a good day and there are no conflicts in the world!”

This news shows to us that our human rights are not respect and we have to pay for all the social and political conflicts. We don’t feel save because, like this people who went to the culture event, a real tragedy can happen and we maybe are going to die there.

I improve so much my English in these years. Now a can read an original book, I can understand news and I can write much better. I am happy with my level in comparison between last years and I hope that I'm going to improve much more.

Now when I write or read I can analyze the structure of the sentences, I can see the correct forms of the verbs or for example I can see an conditional or a modal verb.

Now I'm going to compare my oral presentations in last years.

I found an oral presentation from some years ago and it was about Ireland, I think it was on first of Batxillerat.

I can't believe how I can speak so fluency in the last presentation. Now I feel more confident when I speak and I recognize that I do a lot of mistakes connected with the grammar or the pronunciation. I think now I speak better because all the summers I have to seek a lot with the tourists and because I have my teacher to correct my mistakes.

Thanks teacher for this years I hope one day we see again and we can speak a lot of time in English and I'm sure that I'm going to do some mistakes and you will correct me! 

Macedonia blames Kosovans for deadly Kumanovo clashes

Macedonia says five Kosovans led the armed group which was involved in deadly clashes with security forces in the northern town of Kumanove.

Eight officers and 14 gunmen were killed in the fighting. Las months Allbanians took a Macedonian police station and demand the creations of an Albanian state within Macedonia.

Only one of the 14 uniformed was identified and more that 30 terrorist are from Albania.

The residents who returned to the city are founding their homes damaged.  

Opinion

This news is the top one in the BBC. Why the countries have to be fighting every day? Nowadays on the TV news only speak about the war or violations. All the conflict goes too far and we are going all fighting with together because we don’t live in a calm society. The new generations get more familiarize with the vocabulary of war or arms. A clear expel was the boy in Barcelona who kills the teacher. Is not normal this situation and what we have to support.

My Day: Aceh Tsunami Museum guide Raihal Fajriah

Raihal Fajriah was 17 when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. She now works at the Museum in Banda Aceh, Indonesia while she studying a master degree’s in disaster management.

She explains what she has done before the tsunami and what she was doing at work. The museum where she works has three functions but basically educate people about how to survive of a disaster.

Her boarding school was on the higher land and she was in less danger but her friends who lived near the coastline haven’t the same luck. She said that they started to cry because it was nothing to do.

After four days she could saw her family who saved because they had the time to run to the higher ground.

The news finishes with an explication about her studies and how tourist agreed to them them to prepare for a tsunami.

Opinion

I choose this news because it’s a very important one. More than 10 years later, people still talking about this big disaster. When we are surer about everything is when a big disaster comes and the worst is that we don’t have the power to stop all the natural things because that is stronger than us and we only have to accept all.

Sant Jordi

The 23th April in Catalonia we celebrate a special day which is Sant Jordi. The entire streets are plenty of stands with books and roses because the girl has to offer to the boy a book and he a rose.

With the school we do different activities like go to Perelada to see a private library or go to the cinema to see a film called:” Camino a la escuela”.

I had choose the second one. The film was about different children who has to arrive at school but maybe they have to do 20 km. some of them go walking. It is very hurt to see and I don’t want to imagine what it has to be to live that.

When we come back to school and we pass next to the primary school Joana d’Empúries the children were running and playing because they were in the break time. A very but very brilliant girl who sits in front of me said: “look the children who has do to 20 km to come to the school” and start laughing. I was with Nerea and she listen that too.   I was very angry this day and when we get off of the bus I had a very good speech for her but Nerea stopped me.

I can’t believe the grade of stupidity that some person has. I hope that the follow year in Girona I’m not going to see that.

Different test

Some days ago I found in the CNN a website which said to you with a photo the age that you seem.

The piece of new show some examples from famous people and they explain you the age that they have and after the test you can see the age that they seem.

I am a curious person and I do the test. I’m going to show some results because I’m going to try with different photography.

 

I can believe it! 27 and 28 years old? Really? I seem so older? I choose two old photos because maybe if I try one of now I can seem like 30-40 years. I have to do something because I am only 19 and that goes to the worst jejeje 

I choose this photos with the horses because maybe it going to say the age of them.   

Children for sale heartbreakingly easy to find in ravaged Nigeria

A group from the CNN has investigated a case about children who are sold and trafficked.

The man, who does the traffic, on the phone offered them young children and they asked if he is available to “foster” and he answer yes.

When they want to see them, he asked if they want one or more than one. After saying the fostering is free he said that is not necessary any paperwork.

In Nigeria there are 8 million children who are currently engaged in forced labor. The Global Slavery Index says Nigeria has the highest number of people in modern slavery.

At the camp they met with the man. They asked for a girl and he said he has a 12-years-old who cook and clean but if they wait some days he could found another.

Every children cost around 500$.

Opinion 

I choose this news because there are two basically human rights: freedom and torture.

I can imagine how people can torture like that children and they can do that. We are not so continently that we live in a very dangerous world and what people are able to do. But the worst thing is that there are people who traffic children but there are others who buy them. Poor children… there live in the worst conditions that we can imagine and they have to try to don’t be cached by this people. I hope that one day all that finish but I think that is not going to be like that because we go to the worst.

Human rights are the rights that a person have only for be a human.

There are 30 human rights.
4. Which human right were you not familiar with?
   I am not familiar with the human rights about the torture or the slavery because I have not seen a lot of cases but I know that it exists. 
I think an example it could be women in Africa and there the law doesn’t acute. 

Opinion essay

Why couldn't we live without our phone or why are we so much obsessed with our mobile phones?
Nowadays, the only thing that we have to do is walk along the street anf look arround, Young people, teenagers and adults walk with their mobile phones in their hand. This is the first evidence that we depend on mobile phones. There are a lot of examples, in a restaurant we don't talk with our partner because we use the phone.
On the other hand that is not the fault of the new generations, is more because parents let chindren play with the mobile phones and after same years they are going to want one.
In conclusion, we are very dependent on our mobile phones. If one day they are going to stop and Internet will not work, we are going to be crazy and I am sure that we will completely lose because our life has changed a lot currently.

I am writing to express my concern regarding the current conflict from the Islamic state and between Russia and Ukraina.

I find it unacceptable that you cannot stop them or because in all these years you let this situation go to the worst. The part that concerns me the most is related with the society because a lot of people die and thet are not to blame about the conflict.

The living conditions of these poor people are unafavorable. They live in povery, they are not going to bear any more the hunger and this situation.

I suggest you to take care of these people and think more in all the children that have to live with that all day. Please try to stop them because that is a big torture for everyone.

Wisconsin mom shot saving 2 of her kids, but husband and daughter killed

A woman, Erin  Stofflee saved her daughters Ezra and Selah after a gunman randomly opened fire. He killed Erin’s husband and her 11-years-old daughter.

She saved her daughter after taking three bullets.

A doctor said that you cannot understand the power of a mother to protect her children and more after three gunshots.

Sergio Valencia del Toro opened the fire after an argument with his ex-fiancée. After opened the fire, he turned the gun on himself and toke with his life.

That was happened in Menesha, Winsconsin. The mother was able to get off the bridge and save two children. Now her condition is critical.

The family receives help from a gofundme page.

Opinion 

I choose these news because I think is incredible our power to save our family and what we are able to do for the happiness of our family, for example.

This women now, for me and for more people, is a very good example of strength and courageous. It is amazing how we can do something like that for somebody and what we are able to suffer for save their life.

Gap year

Some weeks ago we were speak with Noa, a student who has finished last year Batxillerat and now she is in Australia doing a gap year like an au pair.

She explained to us how her days there are so what she has to do in his work, how she get to arrive at Australia, which places she loves more and how she feel.

A think that it she said is he feel homesick and she said that before she goes, she doesn’t spent to much time with her family and she said when she is going to come back she is going to spent more time with her family.

What I think about the gap year?

I think is very interesting and is a new experience in our lives so if a have the possibility to do it, I can go. I have my friend Micael who goes to Blackpool to work there only on summer and now he stay  there and he do the exams to go to university there.

Go in a place where you only can speak the language from there it helps you a lot because you have to learn and hurry because you have to live there. When I was young I have done that because everybody speaks to me in Spanish.

In conclusion I like a lot the idea of the gap year and if you find something like Noa or Micael is better because you don’t have 

Soulmate

What is that? It’s true that everybody has a different idea about it and we commented in class and we said different things.

For me a soulmate can be a friend, a familiar or your partner. This person can have the same character than you or it can be completely different but you know "Opposite poles attract".                          

This one have to be with you in the best but to the worst to, has to make you be better person, make you feel great. If you can see I associate it more with a couple because you normally during the years, you try to found your soulmate and why not this one is going to be your life partner.

I don’t know, this topic can be difficult to define like the human rights.

Barcelona

Some weeks ago my boyfriend and I were decided to spend a weekend in Barcelona because we wanted to disconnect a little bit from l’Alt Empordà.

We take the AVE to go to Barcelona. The first day was the best one because for he was the first time that he go to Barcelona, because he is from Alicante, and he was impress because he said that everything is very beautiful.

We were visited the Montjuic, we gone on Plaça Catalunya and all the center of the city. We go shopping too and we take a lot of pictures.

After lunch we meet with my cousin’s girlfriend and we go their flat. We watched a film as long as my cousin arrives from the work. When he arrived we start to laugh a lot because my cousin is very funny. At the evening we done the dinner and we celebrated my 19^th birthday.

It was a really great weekend and I have to say that my boyfriend and I are a very good tourist’s jajaja 

Oral presentation

In this oral presentation I used a Prezi to explain better the information and I used some pictures too. It was during approximately 7 minutes.

In comparison than the last presentation, in this one, I speak more fluently and I have not to stop a lot to see my paper so I think with that I improve a little bit.

I had done some mistakes with the pronunciation and with the grammar too.

For me a 7 was perfect but the final mark about the oral presentation is an 8 so I’m very happy!!!!  

Abstract

The profect is about my future, exactly about the degrees that interest me more at the University.
I speack about these degrees: tourism and pre-school education. I explain which is the university that I would like to choose, what I have to do to go to this University, about the college credits and the subjects that I have to study, where I can work when I finish the degree and a short conclusion and what I have decided to do or which degree I'm going to choose.

Tampa police make arrests in tortured dog case, security video points to teens

Tampa police have arrested two teenagers last week because they are shooter a young pit bull mix that was left for dead.

The teenagers aggraded cruelty the animal and they shooter her multiple times.

The neighbored heard gunshots and they called the police.

Cabela, the dog, was train to be used in dog fighting but she was not good and they want to get rid of her. She was found tied after 3 shoots. She could not get away.

The dog has the right for the leg amputated because the damage was several but a metal rod was inserted.

There are a lot of donations to help the rehabilitation of Cabela which during six weeks.  

Opinion:

I choose this news because it is incredible that there are some persons who has not feelings and they can do that with a poor animal who has not the fault because he is good and not aggressive.

There are a lot of cases that it happened and nobody said nothing. I think that the market of animals has to be more regaled and look after about the future proprietaries but that is not going to happened.

When I see all this news I feel so impotency because I cannot help this animals. I saw some month ago what happened with the dogs In China and I have to stop the video because it was too much for me.

I hope that in one day all that is going to happen and all the animals were in families which love them because I think that have a pet and see how he love you is amazing.

Student body on strike

Secondary schools pupils and university students went on the streets the 26^th on February to express their indignation of the new law that Wert wants to put at the system of the education. This law want to reduce the duration of university course from 4 years to 3. There were 7,000 students who protested on the streets of Barcelona.

A lot of Universities supported the strike: Universitat de Girona, Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and others.

The Associació de Joves de Catalunya said that it was a success and says that they are not going to accept any reform of school and university system.

Opinion:

I disagree with this law and the day that the manifestation was, I wont to go but it was impossible because we have History exam.

The next years, if this law start, only rich students are going to study because it is going to be very expensive. They want to put 3 years of degree and 2 of Master but this one is going to be private.

In my case, if this law starts, I have to forget to go to study because for me is very expensive and I’m going to study another think, not what I want to study.

I have to say that the system of study that nowadays we have, is the worst that I never seen and it is going to be worsted.

Mobile in classrooms

Nowadays mobile phones are more used at schools, the teachers are absent minded and angry because the students use Whatsapp in the classes. There are schools that use phons to work in classrooms but only a few schools.
On the Mobile Worls Congress the use on mobile phones appears that it is going to change and the School Concial of Catalonia presented the Mobile technologies for schools. This document encourages the use of mobiles phones in the classrooms.
A secundary school in Tarragona works with phones and Palamós secundary school has been using laptops and digital books for si years and now adopted phones and they think that teachers have to accept that students hav contact with the technology.

Opinion
I agree with this news because my generation, for example, has grown up at the same time than the technology and if we work at home with it, we should work at school too.
On the other hand, I think that it is not very good for our sight because we are going to look at small screens during the day and a lot of people are going to have problems with the eyes.
