The end of a beautiful period

My last post, the last time that I’m going to write for my blog of second of batxillerat.

I can imagine how the time passes and how we grow up so early. If I stop to think and remember on the past it seems like yesterday I have arrived in Spain.

All this years in the high school I meet a lot of people, I learn a lot and I’m going to miss a lot all that.

It’s true that I’m going to start a new period, maybe one of the most important which is going to mark me a lot but I’m a little bit afraid because is a big change, I’m going to live without my parents and I have to front of with all the problems. Live without my parents is not the problem because they go every year a month in Rumania and I stay here alone.

The first days I think they are going to be the worst of my live because I’m going to be in a university with a lot of people, I’m sure that I’m going to go in a wrong class and more things that I’m able to do. Jajaja

I love the idea to go and live with two of my best friends: Meritxell and Anna. Maybe we are going to be calm but I think that we are going to do a lot of things together and is going to be a pleasure period.  

In Nepal, after new earthquake, people seek open spaces to avoid falling debris

Last Tuesday Nepal has suffered another earthquake. People in Lukla rushed to the airport because most of the buildings are perched on hilly ground and because they were in an open space.

The power was 7.3 quakes and was centered near Mount Everest.

The news presents some cases of people who live the earthquake. One was in the car with some friends when saw people running and they have to let the car, another was in a second floor of a building…

Opinion:

In the last years there are plenty of natural’s phenomenon’s which destroy a lot of cities and kill a lot of people. The worst is that we can’t do anything to stop that and we have to accept them. Here, in Spain, we have the luck that everything it seems to be calm but if the global warming progress that specialists says, we are going to go because nothing of that is going to exist.

The worming progress is true that we have the fault because in the last years we contaminate a lot and now we have to live with that.

Mother, son both fighting cancer

In 2012 Colin, 6 years son of Cheryl, was diagnostic with leukemia; the same year her father died from ALS. In 2013 her house flooded and they lost everything. Finally in 2014 she was diagnosticated with breast cancer.

Tim Smith a photojournalist asked if he could document the family’s story. Cheryl thought that the two can’t survive but she hoped that her son can.

Smith was there for the treatments, surgeries and the worst days after the treatments.

Cheryl said that they try to focus on the little moments which make them happy. For encourage herself her looking in the mirror and tearing up. Her son says that she is beautiful.

Cheryl decline when she is alone, at night but she has her friends who help and encourage her a lot.

In 2015 Cheryl has been declared cancer-free and Collin will hopefully be cleared of his leukemic in October. Now they can have a normal live.

Smith keeps closely in touch with Cleryl and her kind and he want to be with Collin in October.

Opinion

I choose this news because you know I live more or less everyday with that and because for me the strength  of this woman is incredible. Is very unfair that some families have to live with that and they have to accept and be prepared for everything because this illness is very sensible.

The worst part I think is see somebody that you love a lot has to suffer like that and you feel very powerless because you cannot do anything. I hope that one day the medicine found a cure.

Death toll in Kabul hotel attack rises to 14; Taliban claim responsibility

Kabul, Afganistan.

A gunfire on a hotel in Kabul finish with the life about 14 persons. They were foreigners from America, Italy, UK… and they went there for a culture event.

In March 2014 was another deadly assault on the luxury Serena Hotel in the same city.

These attacks are atrocities. The siege starts at 8 p.m and was during more than five hours.

More than 50 persons were rescued from the hotel.

The police had killed three armed assailants buy only one body had been found.

Opinion:

Why I choose this news? Nowadays the most of the news are relation with this topic. I hope that one day that is going to stop and we can say “today is a good day and there are no conflicts in the world!”

This news shows to us that our human rights are not respect and we have to pay for all the social and political conflicts. We don’t feel save because, like this people who went to the culture event, a real tragedy can happen and we maybe are going to die there.

I improve so much my English in these years. Now a can read an original book, I can understand news and I can write much better. I am happy with my level in comparison between last years and I hope that I'm going to improve much more.

Now when I write or read I can analyze the structure of the sentences, I can see the correct forms of the verbs or for example I can see an conditional or a modal verb.

Now I'm going to compare my oral presentations in last years.

I found an oral presentation from some years ago and it was about Ireland, I think it was on first of Batxillerat.

I can't believe how I can speak so fluency in the last presentation. Now I feel more confident when I speak and I recognize that I do a lot of mistakes connected with the grammar or the pronunciation. I think now I speak better because all the summers I have to seek a lot with the tourists and because I have my teacher to correct my mistakes.

Thanks teacher for this years I hope one day we see again and we can speak a lot of time in English and I'm sure that I'm going to do some mistakes and you will correct me! 

Macedonia blames Kosovans for deadly Kumanovo clashes

Macedonia says five Kosovans led the armed group which was involved in deadly clashes with security forces in the northern town of Kumanove.

Eight officers and 14 gunmen were killed in the fighting. Las months Allbanians took a Macedonian police station and demand the creations of an Albanian state within Macedonia.

Only one of the 14 uniformed was identified and more that 30 terrorist are from Albania.

The residents who returned to the city are founding their homes damaged.  

Opinion

This news is the top one in the BBC. Why the countries have to be fighting every day? Nowadays on the TV news only speak about the war or violations. All the conflict goes too far and we are going all fighting with together because we don’t live in a calm society. The new generations get more familiarize with the vocabulary of war or arms. A clear expel was the boy in Barcelona who kills the teacher. Is not normal this situation and what we have to support.

My Day: Aceh Tsunami Museum guide Raihal Fajriah

Raihal Fajriah was 17 when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. She now works at the Museum in Banda Aceh, Indonesia while she studying a master degree’s in disaster management.

She explains what she has done before the tsunami and what she was doing at work. The museum where she works has three functions but basically educate people about how to survive of a disaster.

Her boarding school was on the higher land and she was in less danger but her friends who lived near the coastline haven’t the same luck. She said that they started to cry because it was nothing to do.

After four days she could saw her family who saved because they had the time to run to the higher ground.

The news finishes with an explication about her studies and how tourist agreed to them them to prepare for a tsunami.

Opinion

I choose this news because it’s a very important one. More than 10 years later, people still talking about this big disaster. When we are surer about everything is when a big disaster comes and the worst is that we don’t have the power to stop all the natural things because that is stronger than us and we only have to accept all.
